Here’s an ad for my guitar instructional DVD, Cool Legato Phrases Part 1. In this one hour DVD I cover ideas that I use to melodically navigate the neck. These ideas are based on sequencing short musical phrases using the legato technique. Additionally, I share with you some approaches for playing liquidy smooth, long arpeggio and pentatonic phrases. I also show you how I add right handed hammer-ons and pull-offs using the two fingers of my picking hand to extend these phrases.

i used to take lessons from you! I wish I hadn’t been a retarded 16 year old, not practicing more when I took lessons from Derryl is one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made.

That sequence he play’s a 2:42 sounds like it’s over a ii m7 – bII7 – I Maj7. Sweet! The old tritone substitution that is hear so much in Brazilian style Bossa, Samba and Pop.
