WhiteLightnin3, I …
WhiteLightnin3, I would personally compare Wooten to Eddie Van Halen. While he didn’t *invent* tapping, (Frank Zappa and Steve Hackett were both doing it in the early 70’s,) he did popularize it and was the first guy to really master the technique. While Jaco innovated alot of these techniques, (among others… James Jamerson really was the first guy to use the slapping,) I think Wooten has brought it to an entire new level of mastery

ever heard of Jaco. …
ever heard of Jaco. Now Im not saying Jaco is better, but he was the first person to take bass to a new level with all of the things he did with his bass. He opened doors for all bassists, including Victor up there. Im not knocking Victor at all, he an amazing bassist, as you can tell, but Jaco was the innovator and my personal favorite bassist. This is one of the coolest solos ever on a bass.
