Ustad Habib Khan and Ustad Ahmedjan Thirakwa 1937 ”
looks exactly like … looks exactly like someone with only the tabla on his mind, that single mindedness is hard to get. Most people see how well they play, think about the riyaz, utter hard work, explains the physical being.
It is GREAT to see … It is GREAT to see this kind of clip. So rare to actually watch a such an old performance, and especially on an instrument like the Vishitra Veena. A wonderful contribution!
WHAT?? Is that true … WHAT?? Is that true??? That is so selfish of him!!!! I would be proud if one of my kids were better than me at tabla if I were him. He was still one of the greatest musicians though. But this just goes to show that sometimes the greatest of musicians my not have been the greatest people.
That may be true, … That may be true, but you can’t judge people like Zakir Ji. Sure they may be famous, but did you know Ustad Ahmedjan Ji had 5 kids and didn’t teach any of them tabla because he feared they would be better than him
Ofcourse he was one … Ofcourse he was one of the best. I have told so many people to watch Thirakwa if they can.
Just because i said he looks funny in his younger days does not mean i dont admire his playing.
Wow,
Thank you a … Wow,
Thank you a million. SO very rare. I am sure we all should probably take things in our own hands to further the art and beauty of Hindustani classical music and share our rich culture. There’s millions of hours of programming that are sealed under red-tapism and beaureaucracy with All India Radio. Also there’s talent sealed under “COPY-RIGHT”. Please add more. I am very pleased to see very old recordings of Khansaheb Thirakwa and more.
And who is you??? … And who is you??? Do you know who Ustad ji is? Let me tell you, none of these today’s commercial tabla player will reach his level. Not Zakir Hussain and NO ONE. He played for Love and these tabla nawazes play for money and fame. He was a gift from God!
dear sir,
my heart … dear sir,
my heart filled with joy after listening to this video. i have no words other than Thank You. People like you make this World a better place.
