I do understand what you mean.
The rhythm what you are used to and what is followed here is quite different and until you sit there in the concert and listen to them live, you can’t get the feel of it.
many westerners get … many westerners get confused when indian classical musicians play cross rythms, and it looks off beat. but i can assure u their sense of beat is absolutely spot on.
First of all, … First of all, timing in indian music is very different and a lot more complex than anything you will find in the west. So if it sounds off to you, its because you have no sense of musical, I dont mean that offensively, most people dont have a sense of musical time. Furthermore, western musicians will struggle grasping the timing as the time signatures are very atypical for western. Keep listening and expanding your mind!
On the left side it … On the left side it is “mridangam” which is a south Indian( Carnatic Music) instrument and the on the right side it is “tabla ” which is a north Indian (Hindustani Music) instument. Normally the Mridangam do not accompany the Sitar, here it a kind of Fusion music.
