Here it is. The big one you’ve all been waiting for… the official version of “A Long Way from Equestria”. We’re very proud to present this song to you, and we really hope you enjoy it.
A few thank you’s are in order: Thanks to EverFreeRadio for premiering this song, and for their support throughout this entire endeavor. Thanks to RobBob for being a hysterical, supportive, and awesome friend–I’m glad to have met you. Sean, the work you’re doing right now is awesome, and I can’t wait to work with you more in the future–you’re a really cool dude! Seth, you run a great blog at EqD, and if it wasn’t for your exposure, no one would even be listening to my music–thank you! And of course to Andy (MandoPony) you guys are more than just friends, you’re my brothers. Love ya both. Thank you so much for helping me make this track so much more than it once was.
And of course… thank you for listening. If it wasn’t for the support of the amazing bronies, and a few members of the actual MLP crew themselves, I wouldn’t have the privilege of doing this. You’re amazing, and I’m pretty sure we’re changing the world together.
Not bad, huh?

Lyrics:
He was different from the rest of the world
He chose the lovely every time
With a smile, he would bravely soldier on
Yeah, was that such a crime?
He did not wear cynicism well
He chose the lovely every time
And they cut him down, the world cut him down
Yeah being peaceful was his crime

And I don’t understand
The way we all behave
In this world of ours..
This world we live in…
We’re a long way from Equestria
We’re a long, long way
We’re a long way from Equestria
A long, long, way
She dared to love everybody
Yeah, she was nothing but kind
And the world told her she was wrong
Yeah, There must be something wrong with her mind
And she was just a child amongst thieves
Just a child looking for love
Yeah all the grown ups in the world told her she was wrong
To believe in something we’re all dreaming of
And I don’t understand
The wicked things we do
In this world of ours…
This world we live in…
We’re a long way from Equestria
We’re a long, long way
We’re a long way from Equestria
A long, long, way
I will never give up the fight.
I will never surrender to the hate
I know this world ain’t perfect at all
But the world is just what we create
So let’s make love,
Let’s make friends,
Let’s take time to make amends,
Let’s make the world more like Equestria

Jackson 5 – Never Can Say Goodbye
Dec 22, 2011 amazing bass solos
Sometimes, happenstance plays an importance part in the making of hit records. Producer Hal Davis was in his Los Angeles office at Motown Records when he heard a catchy melody being played on a piano in the next room. Investigating, he found aspiring songwriter Clifton Davis who’d come to the label to shop his song “Never Can Say Goodbye” to its publishing firm, Jobete Music. Expressing interest in recording the song, Clifton was happily taken aback when Hal told him that he’d produced the Jackson 5’s R&B/ pop chart-topper “I’ll Be There.” Producer Davis booked a recording session for that night, assembling such first-call talent as guitarist David T. Walker, Art Wright, drummer Gene Pello, bassist Bob West, and pianist Joe Sample of the Crusaders, some of whom had played on some of the J-5’s biggest hits. The beautiful arrangement by Gene Page perfectly fits the quiet, introspective tone of the lyrics. It was also a very “grown up” ballad for the group and to some extent balanced out their ” bubblegum soul” image. Amazing as it sounds, there was some dissent in the label’s A&R department, with some thinking the record would blow a good thing by alienating the group’s massive teen following. Luckily label founder Berry Gordy intervened and “Never Can Say Goodbye” topped the R&B charts for three weeks in spring 1971. Clifton also wrote another number one R&B hit for the Jackson 5, “Lookin’ Through the Windows,” and starred in the TV sitcoms That’s My Mama and Amen.

Hip-hop/urban soul supergroup Lucy Pearl was formed in the summer of 1999 as the brainchild of Tony! Toni! Toné multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Raphael Saadiq (formerly known as Raphael Wiggins), who left the band he co-founded with his brother D’Wayne in 1998. Saadiq first contacted DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest, which had disbanded after their 1998 LP The Love Movement, and then ex-En Vogue member Dawn Robinson, who had originally departed that group for a solo career in 1997 but jumped at the chance to work with Saadiq and Muhammad. Relying a great deal on live instrumentation in addition to samples and turntable work (Muhammad even plays bass and guitar), Lucy Pearl issued its self-titled debut album in the spring of 2000.
