Here is a jam we did with a VJ, nothing planned out beforehand. We did this at Springs Theatre Studio in tampa, on a monday night where they bring musicians in to teach people studio production. It sounds like it was loud but everything was very very low volume, way lower than I am used to playing. Guitar players will probably skip to 3:20 or 4:36

This week we were blessed with Shankh who is an amazing tabla player. If you want to hire him for a gig you can reach him at shankh.tabla at gmail. Pay him lots of money so he can keep making the trip over here from Tampa.

This is Stevy on guitar, Kevin Ryan on Bass, And Shankh on Tabla. Sadly, Matt Webb also played drums, but we didn’t record the drums for some reason. Anyway, he was in there too. You can kind of hear him because the tabla mikes picked up a little bit of him.

Because of the tablas, we went very mahavishnu in places, and even a little peter frampton at the end.  Check it out. Great music to wash your dishes to.

1. Interpretación de las Letras:
El tema repite que nuestro ‘yo’ o nuestra existencia es una ilusión lo que viene a formar parte de la solución al sufrimiento del ser humano que propone el budismo.
Lo que dice el budismo es que el ser humano sufre porque ‘desea’. Todos estos deseos son generados por nuestro ‘yo’, porque creemos que nuestro ‘yo’ será mejor si tenemos lo que deseamos, el cual si, desde un principio, fuese inexistente no sufriríamos. Por lo tanto todo sufrimiento es una ilusión creada por un ‘yo’ imaginario.

1.1 Budismo
Lo que el budismo espera de cada uno de sus seguidores es dejar el sufrimiento/dolor/angustia.
Ellos expresan este paso como si el sufrimiento fuese una llama y con la meditación esta se apagase (nirvana).
El sufrimiento, dolor, etc son solo ilusiones porque no somos solamente cuerpo como creemos que somos.
Somos espíritus encarnados en nuestros cuerpos. Eso nos hace ser seres eternos y conectados a un todo.
Pero no podemos darnos cuenta de esto. Somos prisioneros de un ‘yo’ inexistente, y “difícilmente recordamos quién o qué vino antes de este preciso instante” (“We barely remember who or what came before this precious moment”). Pero “hemos elegido estar aqui, en este cuerpo” (“Choosing to be here in…”) se refiere a la elección que el espiritu ha hecho. Ha elegido un cuerpo que le “contiene” o “sostiene” (“This body holding me..”).
Debemos aprender a pasar a la siguiente lección para ser mejores y ascender a nuestro creador. (El ultimo paso será la unión o integración del alma individual con Dios o ser uno con el TODO). (“Be my reminder here, I’m not alone”) Que seas mi recordatorio, que no estoy solo aquí porque estoy UNIDO CON EL TODO.

1.2 Yoga:
Concentrar la mente, absorberse en meditación, recordar, unir, conectar, otorgar.
La idea del yoga es salir de tu prisión (o de la caja negra). Ser tu espiritu. Romper el bucle infinito del sufrimiento.
Luego, recordar, conectar y entender de las experiencias de tu espiritu y qué debes hacer para dar el siguiente paso.

1.3 Yoga kundalini:
Este tipo de yoga (introducida al mundo occidental por Jung en 1932), se basa en la teoría de que existe una enorme energía en la base de la espina dorsal en forma de serpiente. Esta fuente de energía en principio está ‘durmiendo’ y se conoce como ‘Muladhar Chacra’, la cual salen desde aqui tres canales imperceptibles llamados Naadis. Suben por la espina hasta llegar al cerebro. El Naadi del medio es Sushumna y los de los lados son Ida and Pingla.
Luego hay cinco centros de alta concentración de energía llamados chacras y estos tres Naadis los recorren uniendose y dividiendose (formando un espiral) hasta llegar al ultimo chacra (el sexto) de la iluminación.

2 Interpretación del video
2.1 Parabol
Tres hombres rotando sobre una tabla circular, cortando una manzana y luego mostrando el Pentaculo (Representando los 5 elementos (fuego,agua,tierra,aire,luz)) y el sello de Salomón.

2.2 Parabola
La última parte es la que es más evidente. Están las dos Naadis (supongo que son ida y pingla), y sushumna es dificil de ver, pero está en el centro.
Están luego los cinco chacras y el último que representa la iluminación.
Cuando las naadis van pasando por los chacras van abriendo flores de loto que tienen distintas energias, numero de pétalos y colores.
Al final están los 1000 pétalos de la flor loto, pero representados como mil ojos.

It is critical that every drummer develop their own unique style and interpretation. Therefore, I do not memorize any song exactly. I have spent 30 years playing drums and have developed my own style, which I prefer. I keep my playing within the framework of the song and will play a part exact if that part is either iconic (like Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight”) or critical to the success of the song.
