Follow up to last post- bass players mix of the last tune

Allrighty then,

As I said on the last post, Kevin came in and just laid down a bass track, first take. So I took off the scratch bass track for this mix, but otherwise everything else is the same, except that I let Kevin record one more track with a couple noodles and embellishments here and there.

Kurt mix with Kevin on bass

I think its interesting because if you listen to both tracks you can see that the right bass line totally changes the whole flavor of the tune. Kevin adds a funkiness that wasn’t there with the track before. But let your ears be the judge.

And of course, if you want us to shut up, put a chart in front of us.

Kurt Mixes this Acoustic Guitar Jam

Ok I put Kurt behind the helm of Sony Acid for the very first time and we recorded this jam. For his first time, I think he did a great job. And he of course kicked some butt on acoustic guitar.

Kurts first mix acoustic guitar jam

Stevy Did a scratch bass track on this until we could get a real bass player, but what the heck. I just recently got Kevin Ryan to lay down a bass track on this one so in the future I think I will make my mix of this with Kevins bass track so that we can compare what it sounds like with two totally different bass tracks but leaving everything else the same. I can tell you already that it is quite different. Ok enough talk. Lets get to the extreme wankage. Steve is on the left side, Kurt on the right side, if you care.

Check it out.

Tune of the week- shut up and play

Ok we had a bit of fun with this one, but you won’t find out until the end.

This was Matt Webb on drums, Kurt Belshaw on guitar and bass, and Me.

Its kind of funky, but with waaay to many guitars. And no melody. Just the way we likey likey.
