MADNESS ?? Touhou Progressive Classic 118

Title: The Dance of Eternity
Artist/Circle: t=NODE
Album: Channel†Node?
Originals: ??????1969 (Voyage 1969), ?????????? (Reach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke) & ???? ? Invisible Full Moon (Lunatic Eyes ~ Invisible Full Moon)

As I promised here’s more t=NODE, this time a medley of 3 IN themes from their latest album.

I advise to go with caution with this arrange, as the mood changes might not be in your cup of tea, or the instruments these guys are using here.

I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again, t=NODE is practically a circle that surprised me big time, their older releases are plagued with some other mediocre songs but have some nice jewels (that Reisen arrange 2 videos ago), but these guys seriously surprised me big time in their latest 2 releases. This album is… a masterpiece. What these guys did here was combine classic arranges with a lot of “progressive” changes reminiscing a lot of big classical artists (Bach here, but there’s more). The album is actually supposed to be listened to as one big track (thus the almost unnoticeable part in the beginning that sounds like a previous song).
What I think t=NODE was going for in this album was something I’d categorize as “Progressive Classical” music if it existed, the sudden mood changing, the usage of a wide array of sounds at sudden moments, the fact that the whole album is supposed to somewhat tell a whole “story”.
Darn, I wonder why there’s not more stuff like this around.

Commenting on the arrange, all I have to say is that I’m speechless.
The organ solo starting from around 1:22 (and particularly 1:57) is one of the most amazing parts of the song, I’m surprised by how many arranges of Reisen’s theme use organs (the last one has an organ part too, if you guys didn’t realize it, and so did Kokuyasou’s arrange on Chaos’ channel). And, even if it’s slight, the usage of those choruses are killer

Another part of the arrange I like a lot is both at 3:15, when the piano shredding kicks in (I wonder who’s their pianist/keyboardist is, if it’s RD-Sounds I’ll go and give those guys a kiss, seriously, listen to the piano-work carefully, it’s done extremely well), and at 3:28 when the an electronic beat kicks in, followed by more organs, seriously, I find that part extremely badass. Any objections on the drums? I’ve gotten used to them, but they might scare some people away.
Lastly the violins, I think it’s perfect. The violin, the viola, every string instrument used in this arrange.
The very thought of combining Reisen’s theme with Voyage 1969 and Immortal Smoke is madness.

Last but not least, since I’ve got your ATTENTION, I wanted to ask you guys something:
Since I consider the piano one of the best instruments on the face of mankind I wanted to dedicate a set of 10 videos ranging from 121-130 dedicated to piano arranges. Not just ANY piano arranges, the good ones, listen to the piano arranges I’ve uploaded so far, if you like those then that’s what I want to feature. You guys should know which song is the one I want to dedicate the whole compilation to.
So, practically I’ll hold a vote, whoever wants the compilation to be held say so in the comment, whoever does not, say so in a comment.
Of course I could hold it regardless from the votes but that is not something I want to do, since this is not just my playlist, but it’s all of ours, you guys are as much of a part of Merlin as I am.

Thanks for watching!

Here’s a section from Wikipedia:

James Marshall “Jimi” Hendrix (born Johnny Allen Hendrix; November 27, 1942[1] — September 18, 1970) was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is often considered to be the greatest electric guitarist in the history of rock music by other musicians and commentators in the industry,[2][3][4] and one of the most important and influential musicians of his era across a range of genres.[5][6][7] After initial success in Europe, he achieved fame in the United States following his 1967 performance at the Monterey Pop Festival. Later, Hendrix headlined the iconic 1969 Woodstock Festival and the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival. Hendrix often favored raw overdriven amplifiers with high gain and treble and helped develop the previously undesirable technique of guitar amplifier feedback.[8] Hendrix was one of the musicians who popularized the wah-wah pedal in mainstream rock which he often used to deliver an exaggerated pitch in his solos, particularly with high bends and use of legato. He was influenced by blues artists such as B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Albert King, and Elmore James,[9][10][11][12] rhythm and blues and soul guitarists Curtis Mayfield, Steve Cropper, as well as by funk and some modern jazz.[13] In 1966, Hendrix, who played and recorded with Little Richard’s band from 1964 to 1965, said, “I want to do with my guitar what Little Richard does with his voice.”[14]

As a record producer, Hendrix also broke new ground in using the recording studio as an extension of his musical ideas. He was one of the first to experiment with stereophonic and phasing effects for rock recording.

Hendrix won many of the most prestigious rock music awards in his lifetime, and has been posthumously awarded many more, including being inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. An English Heritage blue plaque was erected in his name on his former residence at Brook Street, London, in September 1997. A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (at 6627 Hollywood Blvd.) was dedicated in 1994. In 2006, his debut US album, Are You Experienced, was inducted into the United States National Recording Registry, and Rolling Stone named Hendrix the top guitarist on its list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all-time in 2003.[15] He was also the first person inducted into the Native American Music Hall of Fame.

Led Zeppelin Black Mountain Side COVER DADGAD Acoustic Zep Blackwaterside

Led Zeppelin Black Mountain Side COVER Wheew! A very difficult cover of an acoustic number by Mr Page paying tribute to an old Irish folk tune, Blackwaterside. Many have attributed Mr. Bert Jansch with this tune but it is a twist on a called Blackwaterside. The song by Mr. Page was recorded on Led Zeppelin’s first album from 1969. This is in a DADGAD style tuning but 1/2 step lower to match the album which would make it a D flat. Mr. Page calls this his “CIA” tuning…Celtic, Indian and Arabic. What he did with this song and the arrangement and production with tabla shows how ingeniuos he really is…transforming an old Irish tune into sort of an international piece by bringing the connection of Celtic and Indian music together. Remember he did this in the late 1960s when the Beatles and the Stones had featured the Sitar and classical Indian instruments on the songs “Within you, without you” and the Stones “Paint it Black” I believe.
I made several attempts to play this in its entirety and correctly. It is a variation on a theme and is not exactly the way Mr. Page arranged it. I think the hybrid picking and fingering technique is more in line with what Mr. Page did in the studio then just fingerpicking or flat picking the song.
Sorry I do not have any tabs for this song. I learned it by ear. I made an attempt to also show both hands during the taping of this so you can get an idea of how its played.

When I get it closer to 99% I will repost.

I hope you enjoy it and can learn something from it. It is very difficult to learn and play, one of the most challenging of Page’s acoustic numbers. Remember, have fun with your playing !

The Beatles, Come Together, Abbey Road (1969) Lyrics

Subscribe for more awesome Beatles videos!
The Beatles song “Come Together”, from the album “Abbey Road” (1969)
Composed by Lennon/McCartney.

The following info was taken from Beatlestube.com:

ABOUT “COME TOGETHER”
From the original Beatles Album “Abbey Road” (1969)

JOHN 1969: “‘Come Together’ changed at the session. We said, ‘Let’s slow it down. Let’s do this to it, let’s do that to it,’ and it ends up however it comes out. I just said, ‘Look, I’ve got no arrangement for you, but you know how I want it.’ I think that’s partly because we’ve played together a long time. So I said, ‘Give me something funky and set up a beat, maybe.’ And they all just joined in.”

PAUL 1969: “On the new album I like ‘Come Together,’ which is a great one of John’s.”

JOHN 1980: “‘Come Together’ is me– writing obscurely around an old Chuck Berry thing. I left the line ‘Here comes old flat-top.’ It is nothing like the Chuck Berry song, but they took me to court because I admitted the influence once years ago. I could have changed it to ‘Here comes old iron face,’ but the song remains independent of Chuck Berry or anybody else on earth. The thing was created in the studio. It’s gobbledygook– ‘Come Together’ was an expression that Tim Leary had come up with for his attempt at being president or whatever he wanted to be, and he asked me to write a campaign song. I tried and I tried, but I couldn’t come up with one. But I came up with this, ‘Come Together,’ which would’ve been no good to him– you couldn’t have a campaign song like that, right? Leary attacked me years later, saying I ripped him off. I didn’t rip him off. It’s just that it turned into ‘Come Together.’ What am I going to do, give it to him? It was a funky record– it’s one of my favorite Beatle tracks, or, one of my favorite Lennon tracks, let’s say that. It’s funky, it’s bluesy, and I’m singing it pretty well. I like the sound of the record. You can dance to it. I’ll buy it!” (laughs)

Lyrics:

(Shoot Me) (Repeat)

Here come old flattop he come grooving up slowly
He got joo-joo eyeball he one holy roller
He got hair down to his knee
Got to be a joker he just do what he please

He wear no shoeshine he got toe-jam football
He got monkey finger he shoot coca-cola
He say “I know you, you know me”
One thing I can tell you is you got to be free
Come together right now over me

He bag production he got walrus gumboot
He got Ono sideboard he one spinal cracker
He got feet down below his knee
Hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease
Come together right now over me

He roller-coaster he got early warning
He got muddy water he one mojo filter
He say “One and one and one is three”
Got to be good-looking ’cause he’s so hard to see
Come together right now over me

Jimi Hendrix upset at drummer & amazing jam! (RARE FOOTAGE!)

This is Jimi Hendrix playing a jam/Hear My Train A Comin’ in Royale Albert Hall 1969.
Jimi Hendrix gets upset on Mitch Mitchell for beginning to early.
R.I.P. Mitch! You were a great drummer

This footage has never been published.

From wikipedia:
“The Last Experience Concert: Live at the Royal Albert Hall is a live album containing Jimi Hendrix’s performance with the Experience at the Royal Albert Hall, on February 24, 1969. The concert was filmed and recorded, because it was planned to be released as a movie, Experience. The movie has never seen an official release, but there are many packagings of the audio recording.”

&

“The Royal Albert Hall film

The two sold-out Jimi Hendrix Experience concerts performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall on February 18 and February 24, 1969 became the last British appearance of the band, and were known as brilliant performances, the latter of which ended with Hendrix wrecking his guitar and then throwing it into the crowd which prompted them to rush onto the stage (CHECK VIDEO RESPONSES FOR FOOTAGE OF THAT). This was the last time he wrecked his equipment on stage. The shows were filmed by musical directors Gold and Goldstein and intended for worldwide release as a concert film (to be titled Experience), but unknown legal issues have prevented the film’s release for over 35 years.”
