Adam Rafferty – “I Want You Back” – Jackson 5 – Solo Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar

Hope you enjoy this one. I love this tune, another 70s soul tune by The Jackson 5. The arrangement is brand new…but since I was practicing over and over I figured what the heck…video time!!!

Little Michael Jackson is singin’ his butt off on this! Listening to the original puts a BIG smile on my face…I hope I can pass the smile on to YOU.

I played this song on a Cole Clark Fat Lady Guitar (FL 2AC), and recorded audio on a Studio Projects C3 Mic into Digital Performer.

Enjoy, and contact me anytime!!!!

Parkway Drive – Five Months (guitar cover)

I tuned my Washburn X50 Pro FE to drop B (that’s the low E tuned down 2.5 steps, and the rest of the strings tuned down 1.5 steps) so I could jam along with some Parkway Drive. This is one of my favorite songs from their album “Horizons”. This song was actually a bit harder for me than I thought it would be, because my alternate picking across strings is a bit sloppy. However, I think I got it down pretty good. There’s a cool little solo near the end of the song.

YouTube is automatically applying compression (WAY too much) to the audio, making it sound like crap IMO. It is also making the audio and video go a bit out-of-sync. The original video file sounds great and plays perfectly in-sync on my computer, so it’s out of my control. :/ One thing that helps is to click the “high quality” link below the video.

This song was relatively easy to transcribe by ear, but I have to thank musicman1066 for pointing out a few mistakes in my original transcription. He has a a great ear.

As always, I’m recording directly to my computer through a Line 6 POD 2.0. The tab is now available on my website. It has also been accepted at Ultimate-Guitar. Please rate my tab on U-G (it’s the ver2 Guitar Pro tab). Enjoy!

You will also find information on my gear, recording method, playing history, etc. on the site.

(how to play) Way of the Fist – Five Finger Death Punch

***CAUTION: This video may contain strong language, and riffs so heavy that your mind will explode. This video is not recommended for the weak: weak of mind, weak of body, or weak at heart. This video is also not recommended for lightweights, those who easily get motion sickness, or hippies. Especially hippies.***

**Sorry I had to make this video fast because the last two times I filmed the videos were 14 minutes long. This time around it’s not even 7. :p Tuning is located at the bottom**

Hey, it’s your friendly neighborhood Soapypsb here, with a little lesson of pure death. Today we’re gonna learn how to play 5FDP’s “Way of the Fist.”

Note: None of these riff are my own, just my interpretation of those heard in “Way of the Fist,” composed by Five Finger Death Punch. I am simply here providing a free, non-profit service to youtubers and headbangers alike.

Song Structure (Riff Order):
**note: riff 3 is actually the riff I played in place of riff 4. I played them out of order but am naming them correctly, regardless.**

Riff #1 x4
Riff #2 x4
Solo #1 (while rhythm plays riff 2 x4)
Riff #1 x4
Riff #2 x4
Riff #3 x4
Riff #4.1 x2
Riff #4.2 x2
Riff #1 x4
Riff #2 x4
Riff #3 x4
(on x3 and x4 of riff #3 arpeggio of that riff is played)
Solo #2 (while arpeggio of riff #3 plays 4x)
Riff #4.1 x2
Riff #4.2 x4
Riff #3 x4
Solo #2 (while arpeggio of Riff #3 plays)
Outro (couple different notes along the F# minor scale)

*GUITAR TUNING*: tab version :p
1) b
2) F#
3) D
4) A
5) E
6) B
