I’ve been getting tons of messages of people saying how they are not looking forward to today, because it’s my last weekly cover video for a while. So I knew I had to do something big. I asked my friend Ben if he’d let me record my final cover of the year on his land. It worked out because I feel like the setting fits the song perfectly. Not only is this song one of my most requested, I feel like it fits perfectly as the final song in the year, too.
Before you say it, no this is not fake. My friends and I lugged all my guitars down to the locations, then used an adapter to plug everything in to Ben’s truck. The hardest part of all was just the carrying all four guitars to different spots. The actual recording went seamlessly, strangely enough. My acoustic guitars were even able to pick up the sounds from the brook with the noise gate on since the water was really fast and loud that day. Wish I had more time to mix since I spent the weekend at Connecticon, and edited this video on the car rides. However for the most part, I feel it’s a fitting close.
Thank you guys so much for sticking around this whole year. It’s been sometimes, but amazing more often. I cannot believe the following that what I’ve been doing has rallied up. Also, my 10k sub special will go up today, so look out for that. I can’t believe I’ve made it this far, and it’s going to be really weird not uploading a video on Tuesday. However, I need a break so I’m going to cool off for a bit. See you guys around and hope you have had as much fun listening to my covers as I have making them!

Special thanks to Ben, Kriispy, and Mikey for helping me film and record this. This would be so much less epic without you guys.
Shot on location in Hampden, Massachusetts.

Want You Gone Portal 2 Guitar Cover

Yay I got a new bass guitar! I literally got it days before I recorded this and was so happy to not have to go up the octave on certain parts for once! Anyways, I recently finished both the single player and co-op stories of Portal 2 and it really blew me away. Such an amazing game, definitely one of those few better-than-the-original games. Loved the development for GLaDoS and the character of Wheatley, and the end song was as amazing as the last one so I had to cover it. I guess you guys weren’t kidding how great it was and how badly I needed to cover it.
Recording this one was an absolute breeze, which gave me more time to incorporate more bends and colors to the overall product. No crazy changes or anything, just metal all the way through. I also treated the lead guitars as if they were vocals when I brought them to the mixing stage, tried some cool reverb stuff and double tracking too. By the way, if you were going to try to put the words to this, don’t. I changed the tempo and extended a lot of sections because the tempo was way too slow for this style of music. I usually stick with original everything, but this time I let it slide for the sake of the arrangement.
A podcast called C-Stick on iTunes featured my Still Alive cover and said some really nice things about me, be sure to check out their YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/CStickPodcast) and subscribe and tell them I sent you, and also remind them to ask permission before they use someone else’s work…
Thanks for all the support last week, this week has been a real mess for me but things worked themselves out. I really appreciate how much you guys care. I was still having some problems when I recorded this so please excuse the lack of energy that you guys are used to from me. See you guys next week!

Corneria Star Fox Guitar Cover

inb4 “Do a barrel roll!” :p
I remember sitting in front of a TV as a kid playing the original Star Fox going, “OMG ITS SO REALLL”. Those were the days, when you thought graphics couldn’t possibly get more lifelike. I’ve always been a die hard Star Fox fan, so I had to do this one. It’s so over done and I told myself I was never going to do this one, but I felt like I owed you guys a more well known song after throwing last weeks obscure curve ball. It’s really an amazing song and I’m glad I did it.
This sure has been a really crazy week. I got this cover pretty much recorded and ready to go the day I released last weeks video. Which was stupid lucky because we got hit with a couple really big tornados on Wednesday, rendering me without power for three days. If I hadn’t got this one done early then you might not have had a cover by me this week! I also decided to write a solo for it to give it my own interpretation on the song, so please let me know how it sounds since this is kind of a new thing. Kind of ripping off ArtificialFear though. Sorry about that bro.
The tornados hit my home town really hard and killed about 4 people and injured dozens. I’m okay and so is everyone I know, but my thoughts really go out the ones who’ve been hurt and the families of those who died on Wednesday. Massachusetts almost never sees tornados, which is why I think it hits us harder, because we are not expecting it. Thanks for the support and I hope everyone is thinking about all the people we’ve lost from the insane amount of natural disaster’s we’ve seen in the US. See you guys next week, I’ve got an extremely heavily requested song coming up!!
