Black Veil Brides – Carolyn (Cover By Danny Gomez)

This is my take of Carolyn track #12 off of the album We Stitch These Wounds by Black Veil Brides

Tuning – Standard

First off I would like to say sorry for the amount of time it took to make a new video. In the middle of learning Heavens Calling I had to do surgery on my guitar due to setup issues.
Afterwards I got carried away since I missed standard tuning so much and started focusing more on other things.
I figured I might as well learn this song since its in standard tuning before I went back to Drop C#. Floyd Rose Systems are hard to tune because you have to adjust the setup over again to get a good tone.

One thing that I am going to admit about this cover is that the clean parts had to be edited.
Yes I usually do my covers without editing but since I don’t have a pedal to switch between channels, making this cover would have been impossible without doing so.
Sorry if anybody is angered by this,

This song isn’t that difficult compared to much of the other songs off of this album but its still one of my favorites. Solo involves some pentatonic minor, arpeggios, and a legato lick towards the end.

Pink Floyd (my personal tribute ) TIME HAS GONE Original

http://www.youtube.com/user/austinsplace1

Pink Floyd … This is not about religion. It’s about mankind and how we treat the earth.
My original 100% organic tribute to Pink Floyd. I was in a creative heavy mood and I wanted to compose a cool mix of metal and symphonic classical music in a Pink Floyd melodic manner. So I pulled out all the stops, lots of keyboard padding, choir voices, classical loops and of course some meaty guitar with lot and melody solos with some very interesting breaks. For the sweet icing on the top of this cake I invited the great Pap Johnson do some superb sax solo work. The result is a very Cinematic Final Fantasy vibe. This was a blast to conjure up. I hope you all like it. As always comments are most welcome. Cheers, Peace and Love

Also, search on Youtube for “Clara Rockmore” to see the greatest theremin player that ever lived.

The theremin is an electronic musical instrument that is played completely without physical contact. It was invented in 1919 by a Russian physicist named Lev Sergeyevich Termen. If you are new to the theremin, please learn about it. The wikipedia page is a good place to begin:

http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Theremin

About the helmet:
It was made of papier-mâché with a custom LED visor built in … post production! using Softimage XSI and Adobe After Effects! Yes, it was a visual effect! 3D modeling, manual rotoscoping, and motion tracking/motion stabilization tricks were employed to pull this off. A LED array with animated text was projected on to a manually rotoscoped 3D visor, that was subsequently composited with the original footage using motion trackers in After Effects. The helmet itself took three days to make. I used 7 layers of card stock/normal stock paper strips in a special heavy mix paste recipe. The shape was built around a custom mold of shipping foam and gaffers tape. It was finished off with gunmetal grey paint. The visor was made of plastic cut from a microwave oven splash cover I found at Target for 5 dollars, laminated on both sides with Limo dark auto window tinting. I could see out, but the translucent plastic from the microwave splash cover along with the heavy tinting made it a little bit difficult. On the inside, the helmet was padded with custom cut felt blocks to fit my head size perfectly. The total weight was around 0.5 Kg (about 1 pound).

This video was made for love. Please share it.
