Marques Toliver is a musician you should become familiar with. Brooklyn has a new artist on the scene. Have you heard of him? Spending most of his time busking and working in the NYC music scene this musician can do it all. He’s a violinist, budding film maker, composer, singer,and positive force. Marques Toliver has played on records for Brooklyn Artists such as Miles Benjamin Robinson Anthony,Holly Miranda, and also Chris Taylor (of Grizzly Bear), and Scott Matthew.

Normally I would say you should know AC/DC
better than that if you claim to be a fan.
Anyway, here’s a helping hand for the
not-that-hardcore-fan-yet fans:
0:00-0:15 is no song. Just one of many little solos Angus did between songs live.
0:15-0:45 is “Problem Child”
0:45-1:04 is “Dog Eat Dog”
1:04-2:50 is “Rocker” plus part of a solo in the middle of the song.
One of the few times Angus could go out to the audience
without all of them freaking out!
2:50-3:31 is “Sin City”
3:31-4:04 is like the first one, not a song.Though, Angus used to play this solo (often with slight changes) live after the song “Let There Be Rock”
4:04-4:30 is “Guns For Hire”
4:30-4:46 is “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”
4:46-5:05 is “Back in Black”
5:05-5:58 is “T.N.T.”

Latimer wanted to redo the track because of the slightly flat guitar note in the beginning of the solo. The rest of the band, along with producer Rupert Hine and Phil Collins urged him to keep the track as is.

Small Video with Chapman Stick Hands on Top playing on a Keyboard Stand made for Jan van Kelst’ s Kelstone Hot Contest. The Chapman Stick was originally Made by Emmet Chapman to play in an upright position like Tony Levin or Bob Culbertson does. Jan Van Kelst developed the hands on top technique where you play on top of the Strings. I also saw many guitar players like Andy McKee, Tommy Emmanuel or stanley jordan or bass players like John Myung or Jean Baudin using the tapping technique on their instruments always grabbing around the neck but the first guy where I saw it with hands on top was a youtube video called “Air Tap” of Erik Mongrain. He did nice stuff especially to get out the harmonics. I like the idea. The tune that I’m playing is a folk tune made by Alexander Meyen (www.violalex.de) that I played with the Loop String Project years ago where we also did a lot of live looping. There is also a video with the band!
